The Group feature on Zotero allows users to share references with others.

  1. Sync Zotero Library.
  2. Login to zotero.org.
  3. Search for an existing group or create a new one.
    • Groups may be:
      • Public (anyone can view group and join)
      • Private (only member can view group online and must be invited)
      • Private with closed membership (anyone can view group, but members must be invited to join)
  4. There should now be two sections on the left pane of the Zotero library. They are "My Library" and "Group Libraries".

Making Your Library Public

Zotero allows for a Zotero library to be shared with allowing others to add to it, this can be done by changing the setting of the library to make it public. 

  1. Login to Zotero online. 
  2. Click 'Settings' in the upper right-hand corner.
  3. Click 'Privacy.' 
  4. Select the box next to 'Publish you library' and click 'Update settings' to complete the change. 
    • Notes attached to references can all by published on this page. Select 'Publish notes' and then click 'Update settings'.
  5. You Zotero library should now be public. You can send the URL to others to views it.

To subscribe to a Zotero library RSS feed:

  1. Go to the public library you would like to follow.
  2. Click 'Subscribe to this feed' on the left underneath the list library folders and tags.
  3. Choose the method to subscribe to the feed and receive updates. 
  4. Subscribe by clicking 'Subscribe now.'
