The Safe Zone program has been created to address the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning students and their allies on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
This program consists of training for faculty and staff to become safe zones.
Safe Zone allies are here to listen and be a safe space for others to share concerns, joys and experiences that they may not feel comfortable sharing in another setting. Participants that complete the training will sign a pledge to be positive, supportive, and affirming of the LGBTQ community.
Safe Zone Training details can be found under SIUE's LGBT Resources webpage. Click Training Info.
