Management 441: SWOT Analysis

This guide will provide links and search strategies to key resources that will help in locating Company and Industry information.

TIPS

TIP 1:  You can find SWOT Analysis in Business Source Elite.  However,, most of the articles will not be in full text.  you will need to request them through the Interlibrary Loan service.

TIP 2:  Investext (available through Mergent Online) provides investment research reports written by analysts at leading investment banks, brokerage houses, and consulting firms. These reports provide detailed financial information and analysis on companies and industries. Search for analysis on companies and industries around the globe by company name, ticker, contributor, industry code and country..

 

Find a SWOT analysis for a company

  1. Select the Investext tab
  2. Select a date range or choose "no date range" to see all dates
  3. Click the + symbol next to COMPANY, enter the company name or ticker symbol, then click [submit].
  4. Next, click the + symbol next to KEYWORD, select "search whole report" from the drop-down, enter the word SWOT, then click [submit].
  5. If the search has results, click View to see them. Typically, SWOT reports from GlobalData and MarketLine will be retrieved.

Other search options will allow you to search by industry, country, region, report style, and date.
