African American Literary Scholarship
Borderlands: The Goshen Settlement of William B. Whiteside
This senior project by history major Ben Ostermeier is a study of William Bolin Whiteside - one of the first Anglo-American settlers to live on the land that became the campus of SIUE.
Digital East St. Louis
Coding for Community is a free day camp that meets for four weeks during the summer and two Saturdays a month during the school year. The camp is for students in grades 6-9 who are residents of East St. Louis. Students who take part in Coding for Community are working together to build a website all about the history and culture of the East St. Louis region.
Madison County, IL 19th Century Naturalization Records
Madison Historical: The Online Encyclopedia and Digital Archive for Madison County, Illinois
This collaboration between the SIUE history department and local history organizations is devoted to preserving and informing users about the history of Madison County.
Manang Languages Project
The project encompasses collaborative, multi-institutional field investigations of the four indigenous languages of Manang, Nepal (Manange/Nyeshangte, Gyalsumdo, Manang-Gurung and Nar-Phu) in order to merge traditional documentation methods with cutting-edge visualization tools.
The Rose Project
The Wide, Wide World Digital Edition
The Wide, Wide World Digital Edition maps transatlantic publication networks via the development of a digital edition of Susan Warner’s 1851 female Bildungsroman The Wide, Wide World. We bring together, for the first time, the textual and visual variants from 174 reprints of this unstable text to demonstrate how its cultural function and significance shifted with each locale and material reproduction.
