The U.S. Department of the Treasury is going to redesign the $10 bill to include the image of a notable woman. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew is asking the public to share ideas for the redesign using #TheNew10 on twitter, facebook, and instagram. (Note that the law prohibits putting portraits of people who are currently still alive on U.S. banknotes.) The Secretary will announce his decision about who will be featured later this year; the redesigned $10 bill will start circulating in 2020.

On June 26, 2015, the United States Supreme Court ruled that marriage is a constitutional right for same-sex couples. Same-sex marriage is now legal in all fifty states. The decision follows years of political and social debate.
