When creating your catalog account, you'll need your Borrower ID. This is the number 21811 followed by your 800 number. This number appears on the front of your Cougar Card.
The library uses the UFind catalog to make our books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, maps and more available for you to search. The catalog is listed on the library website at siue.edu/lovejoylibrary. You can browse and check out as many books as you want from our library, but to access special features, you'll need to create a UFind catalog account. With this free account, you can request books from other universities (through I-Share), check the status of requests, and renew books online.
Creating your account
To create your account, go to the UFind catalog on the library website. Click on the link "Create New Account" and fill out the registration form. Your UFInd account can be whatever username and password you want, but make sure it is something you'll remember. You can use your SIUE eID and password, but your UFind password will not change when your eID password changes.
What is my Borrower ID/ Barcode Number?
Your barcode number is the number on the front of your Cougar Card, or the number 21811 followed by your 800 number.
For more questions, see the UFind FAQ page or the I-Share information page.
Lovejoy Library uses an Interlibrary Loan system called ILLiad to get you books, articles, and other resources that are not available on campus or from other libraries in Illinois. You can access ILLiad from the library website and place requests for books, articles, dissertations, theses and more, or you can access ILLiad through a database to request a specific article.
ILLiad should be used for requests if we do not have the item available in I-Share or in a database. Please check first before requesting.
Logging in to ILLiad
Access ILLiad through the library website or bookmark the ILLiad login page.
The log in for ILLiad will be the same as your SIUE eID and password. The first time you log in, you will need to complete the ILLiad registration page so we know how and where to deliver items to you.
On the registration page, be sure to select yes for the option "Preferred Electronic Delivery if Possible." This will allow us to provide you electronic copies of articles.
Getting your items
After you have requested an item and received and email that it is ready, you can either pick it up at the library (physical items) or download it through the ILLiad site (electronic articles).
For more questions, see the ILLiad FAQ page.
