Welcome to Library & Information Services (LIS) at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE)!
We are an innovative, student-centered environment that fosters collaboration, communication and diversity to support the University’s mission. We engage in best practices in delivering our programs, services and resources. We also partner with the SIUE community in the academic lifecycle of teaching, learning, and research.
We are dedicated to enhancing and improving our users’ experience. For example, our skilled faculty and staff worked with the state consortium, CARLI, to update our online catalog to Primo VE, a discovery layer that connects researchers with nearly all library resources in one click.
We are fully committed to sustaining a diverse and inclusive environment for our users. Thus, all are welcome and supported in our physical and online spaces. In response to a study of our international student population, librarians wrote a grant to create the Meditation Room (located on the 3rd floor of Lovejoy Library) as a drop-in space to use for meditation and/or prayer.
We are passionate about helping students and faculty with research. To get research assistance from a librarian, please see our Faculty page. We also have Live Chat help available every day on our homepage to tackle your research road blocks. We encourage our faculty colleagues to reach out to librarians to develop teaching partnerships that will enhance their classes. Our freshly updated Library Instruction Program is built on the Association of College and Research Libraries Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education.
We are providers of outstanding resources and services that prepare students to transition seamlessly into the workforce by building skills in technology, critical thinking, and intellectual inquiry. Please consider giving today.
